About Us
Tim Kelsey
Tim has 19 years experience in managing large payroll departments predominantly in the public sector. During this time he has had responsibility for payrolls covering up to 20,000 employees and pensioners based in both the UK and globally, and has had responsibility for teams of up to 25 staff. Tim has used a variety of payroll software products, including Wealden HRWorks, UNI2000 and SAP, and has been responsible for a wide range of implementation and development projects. He has had the satisfaction of seeing many of his staff progress through the ranks and move into supervisory and management roles in a wide variety of organisations. He also writes and lectures regularly on payroll issues, with particular emphasis on training in international payroll issues.
Kate Upcraft
Kate has 19 years experience in the payroll profession 13 of which were spent at Marks and Spencer latterly as Payroll Legislation Manager, where she was accountable for compliance issues for a payroll of 65,000 employees plus 20,000 pensioners. Within the fast moving retail environment she was responsible for many major project implementations and managed a team of 30 plus payroll staff. Having taken the IPP diploma in payroll management she trained as an NVQ tutor and took a number of her team through to level 3 qualifications. She then went on to head up the Policy & Research function at the Institute of Payroll Professionals of which she is an honorary fellow, lobbying government departments on a wide range of payroll issues both legislative and operational. She now has her own business as a technical writer and lecturer on pay, benefits and employment law issues.
